On Saturday, September 7th, we invited our beloved Bishop Emeritus Fabian Bruskewitz to celebrate Mass and have lunch with us to celebrate his birthday. It was truly a blessing to have our former bishop with us; not only is he special as our former bishop, but especially as the bishop who established our little community here in the great Diocese of Lincoln. During the 30-minute spiritual conference before Mass, he spoke fondly of our community's work, especially in our work in the Little Flower Childcare Center. He is grateful for our presence here, and hopes to see our humble presence prosper in the future.
During the Mass, Bishop Bruskewitz spoke of the sacrifice of the Vietnamese people. especially of the Vietnamese martyrs, who died for their faith in Christ. He spoke highly of their sacrifice, and the sacrifice of the Vietnamese people today, and hoped to see Vietnam as a free nation in the future.
With a delicious lunch following the Mass and many songs of good wishes to celebrate our bishop emeritus' birthday, it was a wonderful day to be with our beloved bishop. May God and Mother Mary grant him many blessings and graces as he continues to live his life wholly dedicated to Christ and His Church, interceding for the Church, and our Diocese of Lincoln, through his simple, quiet life and prayers!
