![]() On Saturday, November 16th, Bishop Emeritus Fabian Bruskewitz celebrated Mass to commemorate the one year anniversary of death of our Sister Mary Immaculata. We were blessed to have 4 priests concelebrate with the Bishop, and Deacon Tom Deall, from the Archdiocese of Omaha, to assist in the Mass. During the Mass, Father Hilary Khanh, CMC, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lincoln, shared his personal memories of Sister Immaculata during her final days. He spoke about the day when Sister was told that she had only three days to live after having been diagnosed with cancer in the last stages. She was very happy and peaceful, willing to accept everything that will happen to her, and more than ready to meet her Creator. In His merciful love, God granted her 5 more months to live among her Sisters and share her last moments with them. He also witnessed the emotional moment when the whole community gathered around her to apologize for any wrongdoings she may have done, and vice versa, which showed the strong sisterly bond they had for each other. Father was able to sum up Sister's life in three words: holy, humble, and simple. Her whole heart beat for her Spouse alone, and she lived her life of 66 years, 48 in the religious life, dedicated to Him. May we too strive to live a holy, humble and simple life as she did!! ![]() After the Mass, lunch was provided by the Sister, benefactors, and Chick-fil-A. We were glad to have so many people come to pray with us for our beloved Sister. We pray that God, Mother Mary and St. Joseph bless them abundantly for their prayers, and if Sister Immaculata is now in the presence of God, she will surely be interceding for us all! Many thanks to all who were able to come and pray for our beloved Sister Immaculata!!
