Thinking that God may possibly be calling you to be His Spouse may seem like a scary thought at first, but it is such a great blessing and gift! God actually may be calling you to follow Him more closely in a life dedicated to the Evangelical counsels, and to serve Him in the Church through its members. There is nothing more beautiful than dedicating your whole life to Christ!
Each Sisters' religious vocations are a gift from God. We made a decision to follow Him, and to say yes. But the majority of it is because He makes the way for us to do so. As one priest puts it: "He takes our yeses and runs with them;" everything is through His workings, through His great plan He has for us, especially for you. In this stage of discerning, or "sifting through" your thoughts and feelings about your vocation, do not hesitate to go into the silence of your soul, to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit gently guiding you onto the path that God has planned for you. This is a journey that will take some time, to pray, to research, to grow in your relationship with God, to test your vocational choice, to gain some spiritual direction. But always remember that you're never alone on this journey of discerning; vocation directors are always here to help you in the process.
There are many young women out there who are seeking God's will for their lives, and some have stepped into our home to see if this is the right place for them. It may be the place for some, but for others, it may be not. But God's Will will always lead them to the place where they belong.
